Helstrom (Season 1)
"Every family has its demons."
Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills.
Demonic possession thriller. No MCU connection. Standalone.
Why It Matters in the MCU
The Hulu series following the children of a demonic serial killer is the MCU's most tonally consistent horror production and its most invisible — released during the pandemic with minimal marketing, it attracted little attention despite being competently made. Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon's dynamic as siblings with opposing relationships to their supernatural inheritance is the series' genuine strength, and the horror atmosphere is more sustained than any Netflix Marvel entry managed. Its cancellation left storylines unresolved and confirmed that the Hulu Marvel brand had no viable long-term future.
Where It Fits in the MCU
Helstrom (Season 1) sits at position 79 of 133 in the MCU's story-chronological order, placing it within the Phase 3C — Ragnarok & The Infinity War (2018) era. It is rated Optional — can be skipped without losing the main thread. Watching in story-chronological order provides the most coherent character development experience — individual arcs build naturally toward the franchise's major crossover events, with each film's post-credits scenes carrying forward into what follows.
