Daredevil

Matt Murdock is the MCU's most morally complex street-level hero. Blinded as a child by a radioactive chemical spill that heightened his other senses to superhuman levels, he works as a defence attorney by day and vigilante by night — two professions that regularly put him on opposite sides of the same case. The Netflix Daredevil series (2015–2018) is the most tonally serious Marvel production to date: genuinely brutal, legally sophisticated, and anchored by a performance from Charlie Cox that treats the character's Catholic guilt as a real psychological burden rather than genre decoration.

Daredevil's MCU reintegration began with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and expanded through a recurring role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law before Daredevil: Born Again (2024) brought him fully into the Multiverse Saga. Born Again resets aspects of the Netflix continuity while retaining Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk/Kingpin — a continuity compromise that acknowledges the Netflix era without being fully bound by it.
